Is anyone using this forum?

We are soon off to enjoy I'm sure wonderful holiday at Komandoo again for the second time and would love to see more reviews and pitures of the infinity pool and villa refurbs, for some reason for a few weeks now there has been nothing at all posted , so if you have been to the island recently since it reopened please write a review and tell of any news, it will be very much appreciated, thanks.

Hi David,

There are photos of the changes (pool, gym, restaurant, bar) in the gallery on the Komandoo website (http://www.komandoo.com/maldives-resort-photos.aspx), and pretty much the same pics are on a few of the travel agent websites, Destinology, Tropical Skies. There's only one new review on TripAdvisor since the island re-opened (addressed to David - could that be you?). The best photos are on the Komandoo facebook page and the comments are all very positive. The changes to the villas (apart from the conversions of the beach villas to the jacuzzi beach villas) seem to be just cosmetic touches in the bathrooms ie changing the vanity units/basins but I haven't seen many photos of the refurbs in the villas.

We're going back for our fourth visit in October, hopefully someone will have posted pics on here before then although it sounds as though it will be after you get back - do please put some photos up. I must confess I wasn't happy at the prospect of a pool but it looks to have been extremely well done, and I suspect I might even be persuaded to lounge by the side of it once or twice!

I'd certainly be interested to know what you think as a repeater. Only 59 sleeps to go...!

Thanks for taking the time to write and giving me all the info, I have been on most of the sites you mentioned except the Komandoo facebook page which was the best site so far, so thankyou for that. Like you we cant wait to go on our holiday at Komandoo, it is paradise on earth and everything you could wish for if your into a quiet, no children resort, just relaxing, reading, snorkling, excursions etc. The new infinty pool looks fantastic I'm so looking forward to relaxing in those double sunbeds with the my Nicole during happy hour and drinking my cocktail while reading proberly John Grisham.
We went to Kuredu about 4 year's ago which was great and they upgraded us to a Sultan villa which my wife was blown away with, while we were there we went on a boat trip to visit other islands and we stopped at Komandoo and feel in love with the island, we did some snorkling, we were so impressed with the reef and marine life we said to each other "this is our next holiday destination" and in 2011 we went there for 2 weeks, we stayed 1 week in a JBV and 1 week in a JWV, looking back we preferred the JBV, it being so close to the ocean and less far to walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner, although the 500metre walk was nice, walking along the beach picking up shells and watching the baby sharks swim by was enjoyable.
Kuredu I'd give 7/10 but Komandoo 10/10, hence we're going back again on Feb 27th 2013 for 3 weeks in a JBV on the east side. It'll be our 30th year of marriage and my wife says she deserves 1 week for every decade we've been married! Still a long time to wait But I'm sure the months will fly by
I will not say "I hope you'll have a wonderful time at Komandoo" because I know you will!!!
